Oh what fun I have been having

Saturday Mary, Lois, Paulette, Pam (playing the part of Karla, by being the last one) put together a card I saw on another blog and adapted.
Stamps : Coffee with a friend - Flourishs
Ink - Black Versa color
Paper : Mint Melody, Pixie Pink CS - SU, Basic Grey Two Scoops line
Etc : ribbon from stash, pop dots

We as always solved the worlds problems, snacked on yummy cinnamon coffee cake from Paulette's kitchen and Karla called in to say little sister Lisa was in town and they had a day planned, but Lisa wanted to do aerobics, I told Karla we are 50 year old women and we do not need to do that kind of thing anymore.

I have been playing with some ideas and with the Basic Grey Two Scoops scraps put together this banner, for now I am putting it on the wall at my office.

Close ups

Today I played with a couple ideas using the SU Botanical Blossoms Sale a Bration Set,

Love to you all, see you next week,

Doug got the day off

We met at Susan N's, so Lance got to be our man today. Paulette hosted a SU party. We enjoyed Susan's cards and will share then next week. Pam, Karla, Joyce (OMG on a Saturday), Lois, broken ribs and all Mary and I were in attendance. We got to make two cards.

We started with a regular 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 card (baja blue) add a strip of Parisian Breeze DSP to the bottom and a small strip of Chocolate Chip cs, run this through the Big Shot using the circle scallop die, placing the fold of the card below four scallops on the top of the die. Layer a white cs round scallop punch on top of the card center, then a Chocolate Chip 1 3/8 circle punch, stamp a circle sentiment on Baja Breeze cs, then punch out with the 1 1/4 circle punch. Punch a flower out using the Boho Blossoms punch from Chocolate Chip cs. Use the small hand punch and insert a brad, the pop dot on to the center of the sentiment circle. Top the card with wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon.

Card two started with an envelope, lick shut, cut 1 1/4 from the left side of the sealed envelope, on both sections using the Botanical Blooms set, the outline in Pacific Point, shadow in Baja Breeze and leaves in Kiwi Kiss. Run the large section through a crimper. Embellish with a Kiwi Kiss scallop punch, Pacific Point circle and Kiwi Kiss cordery button (oh so cute). Tie ribbon around the smaller section. For the insert stamp a sentiment on the white cs with Pacific Point , sponge edges and layer on Kiwi Kiss cs, attach a lable punch to the top.

We all wish Susan and Lance a relaxing and uneventful trip to Hawaii with the SU gang. Have an umbrella drink and think of us.

I have been out enjoying the beautiful day and went to look at a townhome that my daughter is interested in. She is just starting to look and needs to pre-qualify for a loan first.

I added a few more web sites I check often for ideas,

Later and love you all

And now its Spring

The snow and ice have all melted and it is 60 degrees today (wind is blowing hard out of the south) but a great day in all. We played a little catch up Saturday since I called off Tuesday night because of the snow and ice.
Our first project was Beth's covered notebook, she started hers to keep all the great recipes Paulette shares and it is just the right size to fit in a large baggie, to keep it from getting cooking gunk on it. I will post more pictures of this once I finish coloring the chef and putting tabs on the side.

Karla's project was a sweet spring themed card, we had lots of K& Company stickers to pick from

I don't know how I will use mine yet so left the sentiment off.

Last project was a Easter Card for the assisted living folks by Paulette, isn't he an adorable bunny, the sentiment on the inside is "some bunny loves you".
Paulette was tying and Beth attaching the ribbon, all at once Beth uttered "son of a nutcracker", we turned to see Beth holding a ribbon that had come untied, being ribbon challenged she handed it to Paulette to fix.

The group working Saturday included Peg, Mary (all bruised up from her fall the day before), Beth, Paulette, Pam, Karla and me, Lois called in to report she had Grandma duties to fulfill and would need to be absent.

I gave the group some homework, Mary and I thought it would be fun to do a girlfriend journal, I started them off with my page, I gave each of them pages and told then the idea was up to them.
Ideas started to flow, lighthouses or owls for Pam, dogs and cats for Karla, flowers for Mary. There is no due date, just when ever you can get them done.

See you all Saturday at Paulette's party at Susan's house.

It's Still Winter

Karla called in sick Saturday and I had one card up my sleeve, the colors made us think of Spring even though it is not here yet. Lois reported her tulips are coming up next to the house, I need to check mine in case it is time to put out the moth balls or fire up my pellet gun. The card was put together by Lois, Mary, Beth, Paulette, Pam and I. Peg called in to report she was slow getting out of bed. She is excused for the absence. Paulette again treated us to warm coffee cake, this weeks flavor - strawberry.

Stamps: SU Upsy Daisy, Hero Arts tiny phrases
Paper: White CS, SU Purely Pomegranate, Always Apricot and Rose Red DSP
Ink: SU Purely Pomegranate
Extras: White gel pen, SU scallop circle punch, circle nestabilities, white ribbon, pop dot

Spring ahead Sunday I woke up to heavy snow, it came straight down with no wind (in SD!!!), I had to share the snow stacked the plants in my front garden.

We got about 4 inches of snow before lunch, Doug and I left to see "Slumdog Millionaire", I can see why it won all the awards. I recommend seeing it if you can stand a little violence. Any way, when we came out of the theater at 3:30 it was 42 degrees and all the snow was melted. Doug and his "Lord giveth, Lord taketh away" theroy of snow removal was vindicated.

See you on Tuesday night!!
